In November of 2011, Dr. Vaid sustained an injury requiring him to take a temporary leave of absence. It was during that period that he experienced what it felt like to be a patient, facing prolonged wait times, harried scheduling and the inability to communicate directly with one’s physicians when needed. This personal experience combined with his past experiences in private practice, has now compelled him rethink the way he should practice medicine going forward. Dr. Vaid believes that without the administrative responsibilities dictated by insurance companies and government agencies, he can offer a more satisfying level of service and access than what is commonly available.  Dr. Vaid maintains full privileges at Greenwich Hospital and will continue to refer patients when necessary to specialists and facilities within a patient’s insurance plan.
